Community of Practice 2024-25

Directors and managers, who have responsibility for setting and/or overseeing the program quality and operational visions for their organization, reflect upon, examine and develop effective and inspirational leadership behaviors and practices that link organizational mission, program outcomes, and building and retaining empowered staff teams.

The Staff Leaders COP is designed for Supervisors, who have program oversight responsibility, to explore what it means to lead, mentor and coach staff engaged in working directly with young people, while attending to their own professional growth and self-care.  

The Youth Worker CoP is a safe, fun and engaging peer learning group designed to meet the needs of those who work directly with young people and have no supervisory responsibilities. Youth Worker CoP content is focused on how youth workers can problem-solve, grow as professionals, and support themselves and each other in improving three tenants of OST quality: Staff-Youth Relationships, Positive Behavior Guidance, and Quality of Activities. We will tailor our conversations to the times we're living through and the futures we want to create together for ourselves and the young people we serve.
